This is a unique piece of my own design. It belongs in the Spring Jewelry Collection. I take precious and semi-precious metals and inspired by the colours, shapes and textures of the Greek folk art, i create jewelry that's as varied as Greek tradition itself. Also the shape of leaves and the bright colours and patterns of flowers all influence the look and feel of the jewelry I make.
Every piece is unique and is bound to become a keepsake for the person who receives it as a gift.
Flowers have often been used for important symbolic reasons throughout the eras and the Victorian era was no different.
In the Victorian era and especially during the Art Nouveau movement, flowers were primarily used to deliver messages that couldn’t be spoken aloud. In a sort of silent dialogue, flowers could be used to answer “yes” or “no” questions. A “yes” answer came in the form of flowers handed over with the right hand; if the left hand was used, the answer was “no.”
Each flower was given it’s own meaning and in most households you would find a guidebook of deciphering the language of flowers alongside a copy of a bible.
Daisy’s (as reflected in this pendant) symbolised innocence and hope.
